Google Cloud Migration

In November 2019 we migrated our Fraud Detection platform to Google’s Cloud Platform (GCP). We’ve migrated to various hosting providers over the years and whilst it does get a bit easier each time, it’s still a massive effort with a fair bit of downside risk during the migration itself.  Plus it’s a bit unusual in that the short-term goal of the project is that our customers and end-users don’t even notice we’ve done it – which we were pleased to say we achieved in this case.

Since the migration our teams have invested significant amounts of time evaluating and implementing GCP tools to enhance our capabilities and will continue to do so over the coming months.

Before, during and post migration, we had a great deal of help and guidance from Craig Allen and all the team at Offis, and Travis Rath at Google for helping us through the process and with the migration itself.

On reflection we think the best part of our experience was that whilst we are a small company and therefore a mere blip on the radar, at all times we felt important and valued as if we were a much larger, more important account. Well, either that, or the process & experience for a large account must be truly spectacular!
